Navigators Unveil New Logos

PRESS RELEASE – Preparations for the 2020 season of North Shore Navigators baseball are well underway. On Monday, co-owner Derek January unveiled the team’s new logos, ticket information and some other pertinent details for the 13th straight summer of collegiate baseball at Lynn’s historic Fraser Field.

Bristol Blues Move from Futures League to NECBL

The New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) announced on Thursday morning that it would be adding a franchise for the second straight year.  The Bristol Blues will apparently replace the New Bedford Bay Sox to keep the league’s lineup at 13 teams.  The Bay Sox logo no longer appears in the header of the NECBL’s website.  Read more here.  Read press release here.

New Britain Bees Depart Atlantic League for Futures League

Pittsfield Suns Hire Lieberman as New GM

PRESS RELEASE – The Pittsfield Suns and the Goldklang Group on Monday announced that Michael Lieberman has been named the team’s new general manager. A 25-year veteran of the sports industry, Lieberman has served as a general manager in summer collegiate baseball for 11 seasons. He has also held leadership positions in both affiliated and independent professional baseball.

PRESS RELEASE – The New England Collegiate Baseball League is headed to one of the region’s most iconic summer communities, as the Martha’s Vineyard Sharks will join the New England League as an expansion organization for the 2019 season.

Brockton Rox Announce Rick Derringer Concert

The Brockton Rox (Summer Collegiate, Futures League) have announced that the Shaw’s Center, adjacent to Campanelli Stadium, will host Rick Derringer on Saturday, February 10, 2018.  Derringer will play hits from his storied career, including “Hang On Sloopy,” “Frankenstein,” “Rock and Roll Hoochi Koo,” “Free Ride,” “Still Alive and Well,” “Real American” and many more.

Silver Knights Name Muntean GM

PRESS RELEASE – The Nashua Silver Knights have replaced youth with experience in the general manager’s chair. Silver Knights owner Drew Weber announced on Thursday he has hired 61-year-old former Bristol Blues GM Rich Muntean, who has over 30 years of baseball front office experience, as the team’s new general manager.

The Bravehearts: A Worcester Success Story

Navs Break Attendance Record

Plans for New Seacoast Mavs Ballpark Presented

Representatives from USA Training Center presented their proposal at a Brentwood (NH) planning board meeting that was considered the first big step in what will likely be a lengthy approval process.  The goal of the proposal is to provide home fields for the USA Mavericks Baseball Club and Seacoast Mavericks (Summer collegiate, Futures Collegiate Baseball League).  Read more here.

Eyeing New Home for Seacoast Mavs

USA Training Center is eyeing land in Brentwood (NH) for a possible 2,000- to 3,000-seat baseball stadium with four fields for amateur baseball, along with additional retail development.  The facility would provide home fields for the USA Mavericks Baseball Club and Seacoast Mavericks (Summer Collegiate, Futures Collegiate Baseball League).  Read more here.

Actor Bill Murray Stirs Up Fun with Martha’s Vineyard Sharks

Actor and island vacationer Bill Murray stopped by a Martha’s Vineyard Sharks game in Oak Bluffs over the weekend to provide some support and fun.  Murray, one of the original Sharks owners when they were established in 2011 and now a minority owner, threw out the first pitch on Sunday night.  Read more and view photos here.

More Renovations on Tap for Muzzy Field

More renovations are planned for Muzzy Field, home of the first-year Bristol Blues (Summer Collegiate, Futures Collegiate Baseball League), after baseball season ends.  The $1.5 million second phase of improvements for the 101-year-old ballpark  include putting a new press box behind home plate, extending the roof over the first baseline grandstand and even a new Wrigley Field-style sign with the name of the park.  Read more here.

Blues Seek Name for Mascot

A blues-loving, zoot suit-wearing, saxophone-carrying bear has been introduced as the mascot for the first-year Bristol Blues (Summer Collegiate, Futures Collegiate Baseball League), but the character still needs a name.  The team is seeking fan input.  Read more here.

Navs to Host 2015 FCBL All-Star Game, Release Logo

Fraser Field turns 75 years old this upcoming summer so needless to say, there have been plenty of big games played right here in Lynn. The North Shore Navigators are adding to that list as on Tuesday afternoon General Manager Bill Terlecky announced that his ball club will be hosting the 2015 Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL) All-Star Game.

OOB Raging Tide Will Not Return in 2015

The summer collegiate Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide (Futures Collegiate Baseball League will not return for the 2015 season. Futures League Formally Adds Bristol Blues to Lineup, Logos Unveiled

The summer collegiate Futures League and the City of Bristol formally announced last week the addition of the Bristol Blues that will begin play at historic Muzzy Field in 2015. The franchise will be owned and operated by Bristol College Baseball, Inc.  The ownership group includes Elliot Scheiner, a 7-time Grammy Award winner, David and Steve Lindland and Tonino Mavuli.  Read more and view jerseys here.

Peterson Named FCBL’s 2014 Executive of the Year

PRESS RELEASE – The Worcester Bravehearts’ General Manager, Dave Peterson, has been named the Futures Collegiate Baseball League’s 2014 Executive of the Year. The announcement was made by FCBL commissioner, Chris Hall, as part of the league’s annual post-season awards. The FCBL awards are voted on by personnel from each of the league’s ten member clubs.

Futures League Adds Bristol

The Bristol (CT) city park commissioners Wednesday unanimously backed a deal with the summer collegiate Futures Collegiate Baseball League to use historic Muzzy Field for the next three years.  One of the owners of the yet-to-be named team is seven-time Grammy winner Elliott Scheiner.  Baseball veteran Rick Muntean will serve as general manager.  Read more here.

Raging Tide Name Fisher New GM

PRESS RELEASE – With the departure of General Manager, Taylor McCarthy, the Raging Tide have remained consistent in naming Taylor Fisher, of Merrimac, MA, as McCarthy’s replacement. The move comes just days after McCarthy accepted a job as the Marketing Director for the Stockton Ports, the Oakland Athletics Single-A Affiliate, of the California League.
