Brockton Rox Announce Rick Derringer Concert

The Brockton Rox (Summer Collegiate, Futures League) have announced that the Shaw’s Center, adjacent to Campanelli Stadium, will host Rick Derringer on Saturday, February 10, 2018.  Derringer will play hits from his storied career, including “Hang On Sloopy,” “Frankenstein,” “Rock and Roll Hoochi Koo,” “Free Ride,” “Still Alive and Well,” “Real American” and many more.

Brockton Rox Stadium Agreement: Details Emerge

Can-Am League Set for 2012 Campaign Without Rox

PRESS RELEASE – Can-Am League commissioner Miles Wolff announced the league’s roster of teams for the 2012 season on Friday. The Newark Bears, New Jersey Jackals, Quebec Capitales, Rockland Boulders and Worcester Tornadoes will take the field for the upcoming campaign, which includes interleague games with the American Association. Rox Battle Attendance Woes

It doesn’t appear to be good times at Campanelli Stadium for the indy pro Brockton Rox (Can-Am League).  Attendance has dropped to an all-time low of 80,549, or 1,752 fans per game, with just a few home dates left on the schedule.  The team averaged 2,176 last year and hit a franchise high of 3,891 in 2005.  Read more here.  Thanks to John Cerone for the link.

Brockton Rox Rescued, Under New Management

Was there ever any doubt that the Can-Am League’s Brockton Rox would be back for the 2010 season after the team fell behind on rent payments?  Not at all.  It was announced Friday that a new management team led by field manager Chris Carminucci has taken over business operations of the Rox and will invest as necessary to get the team back in the black.  The Carminucci group includes local businessman Jack Shields, actor Bill Murray, who was a member of the original team, and a few other partners.  Read more here.
