Bristol Blues Move from Futures League to NECBL
The New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) announced on Thursday morning that it would be adding a franchise for the second straight year. The Bristol Blues will apparently replace the New Bedford Bay Sox to keep the league’s lineup at 13 teams. The Bay Sox logo no longer appears in the header of the NECBL’s website. Read more here. Gulls to Host 2020 NECBL All-Star Game, Celebrate 20 Seasons in Newport

Pilgrims Cease Operations
After six summers, the Plymouth Pilgrims (Summer Collegiate, New England Collegiate Baseball League) have ceased operations. The Pilgrims reportedly averaged 366 fans per game in 2018. Team President Peter Plant estimated he has $15,000 worth of signage, uniforms, bats, balls and other baseball equipment he’d like to pass along to a new ownership group or another worthy organization. Muskrats to Host All-Star Game
The summer collegiate Laconia Muskrats (New England Collegiate Baseball League) will host the 2013 NECBL All-Star Game on July 21, 2013. As an interesting side note, you might recall that the Muskrats installed a 17 foot tall by 88 feet long replica of Fenway Park’s Green Monster at Robbie Mills Field last season.
