Actor Bill Murray Stirs Up Fun with Martha’s Vineyard Sharks

Martha's Vineyard Sharks Alternative LogoActor and island vacationer Bill Murray stopped by a Martha’s Vineyard Sharks game in Oak Bluffs over the weekend to provide some support and fun.  Murray, one of the original Sharks owners when they were established in 2011 and now a minority owner, threw out the first pitch on Sunday night.  Read more and view photos here.

‘She Bangs’ Martha’s Vineyard

Former American Idol star William Hung will be the guest performer at a game between the first-year Martha’s Vineyard Sharks and visiting Seacoast Mavericks on July 3 at 1:00 p.m. at Vineyard Baseball Park.  Mr. Hung will perform “She Bangs,” his signature song that propelled him to national stardom, and sign autographs for fans.

New Futures League Site Up and Running, Mavericks on Deck?

The new website for the Futures Collegiate Baseball League has gone live at www.thefuturesleague.com.  It appears that the Seacoast (location TBD) Mavericks (a temporary name?) will be joining the Martha’s Vineyard (MA) Sharks and the new team in Nashua (NH) for the league’s inaugural 2011 season.
