Silver Knights Name Muntean GM

PRESS RELEASE – The Nashua Silver Knights have replaced youth with experience in the general manager’s chair. Silver Knights owner Drew Weber announced on Thursday he has hired 61-year-old former Bristol Blues GM Rich Muntean, who has over 30 years of baseball front office experience, as the team’s new general manager.

Futures League Unveils New Home Run Derby Format to Decide Extra-Inning Games

PRESS RELEASE – The 2017 season for the Futures Collegiate Baseball League is set to be an historic one as Commissioner Chris Hall announced that the league will be the first in the country to adopt a home run derby format to decide extra-inning games. The new rule will take effect in regular season games that are tied after the 10th inning.

New Scoreboard Coming to Nashua’s Holman Stadium

More Renovations on Tap for Muzzy Field

More renovations are planned for Muzzy Field, home of the first-year Bristol Blues (Summer Collegiate, Futures Collegiate Baseball League), after baseball season ends.  The $1.5 million second phase of improvements for the 101-year-old ballpark  include putting a new press box behind home plate, extending the roof over the first baseline grandstand and even a new Wrigley Field-style sign with the name of the park.  Read more here.

Blues Seek Name for Mascot

A blues-loving, zoot suit-wearing, saxophone-carrying bear has been introduced as the mascot for the first-year Bristol Blues (Summer Collegiate, Futures Collegiate Baseball League), but the character still needs a name.  The team is seeking fan input.  Read more here.

Navs to Host 2015 FCBL All-Star Game, Release Logo

Fraser Field turns 75 years old this upcoming summer so needless to say, there have been plenty of big games played right here in Lynn. The North Shore Navigators are adding to that list as on Tuesday afternoon General Manager Bill Terlecky announced that his ball club will be hosting the 2015 Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL) All-Star Game.

OOB Raging Tide Will Not Return in 2015

The summer collegiate Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide (Futures Collegiate Baseball League will not return for the 2015 season. Peterson Named FCBL’s 2014 Executive of the Year

PRESS RELEASE – The Worcester Bravehearts’ General Manager, Dave Peterson, has been named the Futures Collegiate Baseball League’s 2014 Executive of the Year. The announcement was made by FCBL commissioner, Chris Hall, as part of the league’s annual post-season awards. The FCBL awards are voted on by personnel from each of the league’s ten member clubs.

League, Team Donate $5K for Ballpark Improvements

Seacoast Mavericks in Portsmouth Tonight

The summer collegiate Seacoast Mavericks (Futures Collegiate Baseball League) will play the first of six games at Leary Field in Portsmouth (NH) on Friday, July 20.  The Mavericks will return to Leary on July 28 for one more and August 1-4 for a four-game series.  View schedule here.  No ownership group has been able to penetrate the Portsmouth market over the years, but the Mavericks are giving it a shot.

FCBL Inks League-Wide Sponsorship Deal

Mavericks to Play Games in Portsmouth

OOB, Raging Tide Finalize Ballpark Lease

The town of Old Orchard Beach (ME) finalized a lease Wednesday with the summer collegiate Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide (Futures Collegiate Baseball League) to use The Ballpark.  As you know, the New England Collegiate Baseball League’s version of the Raging Tide played at the facility in 2011.  Read more here.

Futures League Team Approved for OOB

The Ballpark in Old Orchard Beach (ME) will indeed have a team next season.  The town council voted 4-1 on Tuesday to allow the second-year Futures Collegiate Baseball League to operate a franchise at the revived stadium for the next two years, with an option for a third season.  The team will be known as the Raging Tide — the same name used by last year’s NECBL club.  Read more here.
