Major League Baseball has given the Fresno Grizzlies (Triple-A, Pacific Coast League) more time to work out the fate of the franchise. MLB said in a letter last week the team must accept a demotion from Triple-A to Single-A baseball by Nov. 30 or prepare to go without affiliation to a team in the majors. Read more here.

Man Dies While Competing in Taco-Eating Contest
A man participating in a taco-eating contest at a Fresno Grizzlies (Triple-A, Pacific Coast League) game died Tuesday night after officials say he began choking. There is no official cause of death pending an investigation, but emergency staff at the hospital reportedly did clear food from the man’s throat, and preliminary indications are that he died of choking. Fresno Grizzlies Unveil New Color Scheme, Logos and Uniforms
PRESS RELEASE – The Fresno Grizzlies have changed their primary logo(s), colors and uniforms, effective for the 2019 season. The new independent look for “Growlifornia” is part of a continued branding effort by the Grizzlies to be “Fresno and the Central Valley’s team.” The scarlet, black, gold and beige scheme will be the Fresno Grizzlies’ new permanent look.

Fresno Grizzlies Going Solar
About six weeks ago, the Fresno Grizzlies (Triple-A, Pacific Coast League) released a request for proposals for solar installations. A total of 46 companies explored the possibility of submitting a bid, and the team expects to have between 12 and 24 complete proposal packages by Wednesday’s deadline. Read more here.

Construction of Left Field Social Space at Chukchansi Park Planned for Late May
PRESS RELEASE – Fresno Sports and Events, the ownership group of the Fresno Grizzlies effective February 2018, are following through on their promise to make major capital improvements to Chukchansi Park. As was confirmed in the group’s introductory press conference, construction on a new hospitality area in the left field portion of the stadium will begin the final week of May.

Oreo Taco Night Tonight in Fresno

Former Fresno Mayor Warns El Paso
While admitting it’s a little like comparing apples and oranges, former Fresno (CA) mayor Jim Patterson warned that building a new Triple-A stadium in downtown El Paso (TX) for a Pacific Coast League club might not be financially prudent.
