Pacific Coast LeagueIn an effort to build fan excitement and intrigue before the full branding package is revealed for the new Triple-A Pacific Coast League franchise in El Paso (TX), the owners have released the eyes of the mascot that will don the team’s logo.  The five possible team names include Sun Dogs, Desert Gators, Chihuahuas, Aardvarks and Buckaroos.  Read more here.

Change In Interest Rates Drive Up Cost of New El Paso Ballpark

Judge Keeps Case in State Court, Fines Opponents $5,000

El Paso Will Seek Ruling to Halt Ballpark Opposition

El Paso Approves Ballpark Deal

The El Paso City Council voted 4-3 Tuesday night to approve the contract with MountainStar Sports Group to build a new downtown ballpark and bring the Triple-A Tucson Padres (Pacific Coast League) to town.  The deal could still be scuttled by the mayor, if he chooses to veto it.  The council could still override a veto with a 6-2 vote.  Read more here.
