RiverDogs to Host 17th Annual Ballpark Festival of Beers Saturday
The Charleston RiverDogs (Single-A, South Atlantic League) will be hosting the 17th annual Festival of Beers at Joseph P. Riley Jr. Park on Saturday, Aug. 17, starting at 7 p.m. There will be more than 100 breweries, both domestic and international, serving up a wide variety of suds. Like any beer festival, there will be more than just the cold stuff going down smooth — enjoy musical stylings by the Blue Plantation Band and Baby Fat Band, plus eats from Kickin’ Chicken, Holy Rolly Charleston, Braised in the South, and Bearded Dogs. Syracuse Mets Set Date for 2019 Ballpark Craft Beer Festival
The Syracuse Mets’ (Triple-A, International League) 2019 Ballpark Craft Beer Festival, featuring samples of more than 100 beers from 50 or so breweries, will be 7 to 10 p.m. Friday June 21. Ripken Ballpark Saga Continues, City Files Countersuit
How to move forward with Ripken Stadium, home of the Aberdeen IronBirds (Single-A, New York-Penn League), is the biggest challenge the Aberdeen (MD) City Council faced in 2018, according to Mayor Patrick McGrady. He couldn’t say more, because of pending litigation. That litigation includes a countersuit filed by the city to the breach of contract suit filed last year in Harford County Circuit Court by Tufton Professional Baseball. Read more here.

Blowfish Unveil 2019 Season Theme: Lexington County Fair
On Wednesday at the Annual World Series Luncheon, the Lexington County Blowfish (Summer Collegiate, Coastal Plain League) announced the theme for next season. 2019 is the 150th anniversary of the South Carolina State Fair, and to honor that anniversary, the team will be hosting the Lexington County Fair during the 2019 season.
