PRESS RELEASE – Today the Defending Triple-A National Champion Fresno Grizzlies unveiled the latest addition to Chukchansi Park for the 2016 season at a press event at the ballpark. The “Wild Things” Food Truck, named in tribute of the Grizzlies’ original mascot, is adorned in team colors and logos and will be a stadium food fixture.
The roll-out of “Wild Things” continues a string of unique food-related promotions and additions from the Grizzlies. From the team that brought you the Frankenslice, the Grizzly Egg, the Chorizo Mac & Cheese Dog and of course the “Fresno Tacos” at every Tuesday game this season, the “Wild Things” menu will feature:
- Tacos: A cheesesteak taco and a BBQ pulled pork taco
- Fries: Flamin’ Hot Cheetos fries as well as Abuelita cocoa fries and caramel sea salt fries as a sweet & salty dessert treat
- Spam Fries: Sesame seed and seaweed-seasoned Spam Fries (Spam cut like fries and deep fried) with wasabi mayo dipping sauce
- The Urban Legends: PopRocks & cola pulled pork sliders (pulled pork with Coca-Cola BBQ sauce topped with PopRocks)
This is just the beginning: Fans and ballpark patrons should note that it’s a “living” menu, and the offerings at “Wild Things” will be expanded as the season progresses. The truck will be located near the Tecate Cantina down the left field line at Chukchansi Park during games.
“There’s no question that food trucks are an essential part of the culture here in Fresno and throughout the Central Valley, so it only makes sense that the Grizzlies introduce one as well with one-of-a-kind items for our fans they won’t find at any other truck,” said Fresno Grizzlies General Manager Derek Franks. “Wild Things” will soon become a Chukchansi Park staple and something our fans look forward to as a part of the complete game-day experience; it’s a ‘Growlifornia’ experience through and through.”
“Wild Things” is a partnership between the Fresno Grizzlies and Dukes Custom Catering. In addition to being at Grizzlies home games, the food truck will also be out in public and at community events away from Chukchansi Park.
The Grizzlies will open the home portion of the 2015 season this Friday, April 15 against the Las Vegas 51s. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
