Staten Island Yankees Cease Operations, Sue Parent Club and MLB

NYC Committing $5.1M to Upgrade Richmond County Bank Ballpark

New York City has committed to a $5.1 million allocation to upgrade and revitalize Richmond County Bank Ballpark, which will prime it for other uses besides baseball. The funding comes on the heels of recent news that the New York Yankees would end its affiliation with the Staten Island Yankees (Single-A, New York-Penn League).  Read more here.

Baby Bombers Mock Astros, Cheating Scandal with Mini Trash Can Giveaway

Following disciplinary action against the Houston Astros from Major League Baseball for their involvement in a cheating scandal, the Staten Island Yankees (Single-A, New York-Penn League) mocked the franchise on Tuesday by announcing a free mini trashcan giveaway, at one of their upcoming regular-season games.  Read more here.

Baby Bombers to Host 2019 NYPL All-Star Game

The Staten Island Yankees (Single-A, New York-Penn League) will celebrate their 20th Anniversary of baseball on Staten Island in 2019.  Next season will be even more special as the New York-Penn League All-Star Game will be played at Richmond County Bank Ballpark at St. George on Wednesday, August 21, 2019.  Read more here.

NYCEDC Issues RFP for Retail Space Next to S.I. Yanks Home

As commercial real estate is snapped up in the St. George area, one location has been conspicuously undeveloped — a 7,500-square-foot retail space operated by the New York City Economic Development Corp. adjacent to the Richmond County Bank Ballpark, home of the Staten Island Yankees (Single-A, New York-Penn League).  Read more here.

S.I. Yankees to Become Pizza Rats During Saturday Games

PRESS RELEASE – The Staten Island Yankees are taking on a new identity on Saturday nights this season. The team will change its name to the Staten Island Pizza Rats for the five Saturday home games, beginning June 23, at Richmond County Bank Ballpark at St. George.

S.I. Yankees to Host Game of Thrones-Themed ‘Meet George R.R. Martin Night’ Tonight

Staten Island Yankees LogoAuthor and creator of the hit HBO series Game of Thrones George R.R. Martin will be in attendance at Richmond County Bank Ballpark tonight to sign autographs as the Baby Bombers become the Staten Island Direwolves, complete with a live wolf mascot at the stadium.  The team will wear special jerseys to be auctioned off with proceeds going to the Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary.  The visiting Hudson Valley Renegades will don House Lannister-inspired jerseys.  Read more here.

Staten Island Ballpark Naming Rights Extended
