A Loudoun Circuit Court judge said he would not permit further delays in the trial over a soured stadium deal between One Loudoun Holdings LLC and Virginia Investment Partnership LLC’s (VIP) led by Bob Farren, unless VIP’s attorney provides a “detailed letter” from Farren’s doctor explaining why cannot participate. Farren is reportedly undergoing cancer treatment, but One Loudoun’s attorneys have accused him of intentionally delaying the trail while he seeks an alternative location for the stadium. The legal saga that has stalled Loudoun’s pursuit of professional baseball will drag on a few more months after a judge on Friday granted a nearly five-month continuance because of the ailing health of Virginia Investment Partnership LLC’s (VIP) Bob McFarren. Virginia Investment Partnership LLC (VIP), the group hat had been working to bring an indy pro Atlantic League franchise to One Loudoun, failed to show up for a hearing in a lawsuit filed by One Loudoun Holding LLC’s against VIP. Frank Boulton, CEO of the indy pro Atlantic League, expects to add at least two teams to the circuit in 2015, including one in Texas and another in Virginia (assuming the Loudoun Hounds ballpark doesn’t open in 2014, or the Virginia Beach project comes together). Read more here.

The Atlantic League’s newest franchise, the Loudoun Hounds, were introduced to fans in Northern Virginia last week. The focus now turns to building a 5,500-seat ballpark at Kincora Village Center at routes 7 and 28.
