Former NFL QB Joe Theisman Helps to Revive Baseball Talks in Loudoun County

Atlantic League LogoFresh attempts to bring minor league baseball to Loudoun appear to be gathering momentum. A new group, which includes former Redskins quarterback Joe Theisman is lending its support to the plans, which could finally see a stadium built in the county.  Read more here.  Are we still talking about an Atlantic League (Independent Professional) franchise?  It’s not clear.

One Loudoun, VIP Entertainment Finally Settle Lawsuit

VIP, Farren Trying to Delay Trial?

Loudoun Hounds LogoA Loudoun Circuit Court judge said he would not permit further delays in the trial over a soured stadium deal between One Loudoun Holdings LLC and Virginia Investment Partnership LLC’s (VIP) led by Bob Farren, unless VIP’s attorney provides a “detailed letter” from Farren’s doctor explaining why cannot participate.  Farren is reportedly undergoing cancer treatment, but One Loudoun’s attorneys have accused him of intentionally delaying the trail while he seeks an alternative location for the stadium.  Read more here.

Loudoun Baseball Trial Delayed

Loudoun Hounds LogoThe legal saga that has stalled Loudoun’s pursuit of professional baseball will drag on a few more months after a judge on Friday granted a nearly five-month continuance because of the ailing health of Virginia Investment Partnership LLC’s (VIP) Bob McFarren. In addition, judicial order essentially scrapped VIP’s $30 million counterclaim.  Read more here.

Hounds Miss Hearing

Loudoun Hounds LogoVirginia Investment Partnership LLC (VIP), the group hat had been working to bring an indy pro Atlantic League franchise to One Loudoun, failed to show up for a hearing in a lawsuit filed by One Loudoun Holding LLC’s against VIP.  It wasn’t the most significant hearing, but it is worth noting and bringing you up to speed on the Loudoun Hounds.  Read more here.

One Issue Left Standing in VIP Counterclaim

Atlantic League Looking to Expand by Two in 2015

‘Curve Balls’ to Delay Opening of New Loudoun Ballpark

More on Loudoun County Project

The Atlantic League’s newest franchise, the Loudoun Hounds, were introduced to fans in Northern Virginia last week.  The focus now turns to building a 5,500-seat ballpark at Kincora Village Center at routes 7 and 28.  Owner Bob Ferren has indicated that construction on the new stadium is expected to begin next month.  The Hounds will play their inaugural home opener in May 2012.  Read more here.
