Rockers Close to Naming Mascot, Final Voting Underway
The High Point Rockers (Independent Professional, Atlantic League) have narrowed the list of possible names for the team’s mascot to nine, including Buck, Giddy Up, Hay Hay, Hobby, Thunder, Hutch, Hype, Ribbie and Splinter. High Point Baseball Unveils Three Name-the-Team Finalists
The ownership of the Atlantic League (Independent Professional) franchise coming to High Point (NC) has unveiled the three finalists for the the club’s name-the-team contest, which include the Dragon Claws, Rockers, and Splinters. Fans can vote now for their favorite name. The team’s name and logo set will be unveiled on July 21. Learn more and vote here.

High Point Breaks Ground on New Ballpark
High Point (NC) broke ground today on its new $36-million, multi-use stadium to house a relocating Atlantic League (Independent Professional) franchise. In addition to the traditional turning of dirt, officials unveiled the name and logo for the new facility — BB&T Point Stadium. Read more and watch video here.
High Point Ballpark Groundbreaking Set for April 11
The official groundbreaking ceremony for High Point’s stadium will be at 11:30 a.m. on April 11 at the construction site at the corner of N. Elm Street and Gatewood Avenue. Making Room for High Point Ballpark, Building Demo to Begin Dec. 1
In less than two weeks, a big undertaking begins in North Carolina’s furniture capital. The demolition of old buildings will begin December 1st, the first of many steps to make room for a downtown baseball stadium to house a franchise from the Atlantic League (Independent Professional). Vote Delayed on High Point Ballpark Project
Guilford County (NC) commissioners put off for 60 to 90 days a decision about helping High Point pay for a $30 million baseball stadium. Commissioners said Thursday that they will use the time to form a “working group” with High Point leaders to determine whether to go along with the project. Read more here.

Without the Furniture Market in town, the streets of High Point (NC) can seem almost ghost-like. But, the city is hoping to change that with the new ballpark.
