PRESS RELEASE – The Omaha Storm Chasers were the 2013 Triple-A National Champions, but the memorable year was more than just baseball as Werner Park once again proved to be the place for family fun in the Omaha Metro in the spring and summer. The Storm Chasers will look to repeat as champions on and off the field as the 2014 Promotional Schedule has now been officially released.
“While our fans have witnessed championship teams the first three years at Werner Park, we here at the Storm Chasers have strived to offer one-of-a-kind giveaways and fun theme nights each and every year to make us the affordable entertainment option in the Metro,” said Martie Cordaro, President and General Manager of the Omaha Storm Chasers. “We go into every season with the mindset that it will be the best yet, and this promotional schedule is colossal in the build up until the Champs Return on April 3!”

Last season the Storm Chasers took home the ultimate prize in the Triple-A National Championship, and this season the fans have the opportunity to take home five Championship-themed giveaway items throughout the season! The first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive a Championship Flag on April 5, a bobblehead of Triple-A National Championship MVP Chris Dwyer on April 19, Replica Championship Rings on May 24 and Championship T-Shirts on June 17, all presented by Bucky’s and Pepsi. Finally, the Omaha Storm Chasers will give out Championship Drawstring Backpacks on August 3!
While giveaways reward the fans who show up early, theme nights are a way to involve everyone in attendance and have become a staple at Werner Park. This season’s slate of theme nights is highlighted by the third annual “What If? Night” on June 7 that will feature specialty jerseys for the “Omaha Commanders,” one of the nine name finalists back in 2010, presented by Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes. This “What If? Night” will also include an appearance by Sgt. Slaughter. Other notable theme nights of the more than 25 scheduled for 2014 include Star Wars Weekend on May 2-5 and Bark in the Park Nights on June 21 and 23, when the Storm Chasers take on the El Paso Chihuahuas for the first time in team history.
On July 17, the Storm Chasers will honor the accomplishments of Mike Jirschele, the all-time winningest manager in team history and two-time PCL Champion, and will also immortalize him with his own bobblehead given out to the first 1,500 fans and presented by Principal Financial Dreams Tour.
Notable changes to the daily promotions for the 2014 season will be the introduction of “1 Cent Wiener Wednesdays” on Wednesday night games and slight alterations to “Canned Food Sunday” and “Cox Communications 2 For Tuesday.” Fans this season will need to bring two Hy-Vee branded non-perishable food items to be donated in order to receive a free McDonald’s Berm ticket, while “2 For Tuesdays” will now be open to all sections and any type of fixed seat for the first 250 fans.
