PRESS RELEASE – The Savannah Bananas announced today the promotional schedule for their inaugural season.
The schedule is highlighted by Dig for the Diamond on July 29th. Levy Jewelers of Savannah will be sponsoring this event and providing a one carat diamond, valued at $4,000. Fans will have the opportunity to dig in the infield immediately following the game and one lucky person who finds the diamond will be the winner.
“Dig for the Diamond will truly be a special opportunity for our fans and we appreciate Levy Jewelers for working with us to make this possible,” said Owner Jesse Cole.
The Bananas will be hosting four fireworks shows in 2016 with the first scheduled for June 11th. The huge 4th of July Fireworks Extravaganza is set for Monday July 4th. The final two shows of the year will be on July 23rd and August 6th.
On June 3rd, the Bananas will host Savannah Idol Night. In celebration of the final season of “American Idol” the Bananas will be giving fans the chance to sing before and during the game to see who will be crowned Savannah Idol!
On June 17th, The Bananas will be hosting Faith and Family night with live Christian music before the game and Bananas players will give their testimonies prior to the game. More than 30 churches have already planned outings for this special night with the Bananas.
Fans will be invited to bring their four-legged family members to Grayson Stadium on June 20th and July 27th for “Bark in the Park.”
On July 1st the Bananas will be hosting CountryFest. Fans can enjoy a baseball game as well as live country music, presented by Bob 106.9.
The Bananas will be honoring the military on July 9th with “Salute the Troops Night.” Additionally, on July 15th the team will be raising money for cancer research with “Strike out Cancer Night.”
The Bananas will host special weekly promotions all summer long including “Case of the Mondays,” “Budweiser Thirsty Thursdays,” and “Friday Night Live.”
“Case of the Mondays” will feature $3 craft beer can specials. There will be four “Case of the Mondays” nights, starting with the first Monday of the season, June 6th.
There will also be six “Budweiser Thirsty Thursdays” throughout the season. These nights will feature great beer specials, provided by Budweiser, and live music in the beer garden. The first Thirsty Thursday will be Opening Night on June 2nd!
On Fridays, the Bananas are teaming up with Alpha Media to have Live Music in the Beer Garden during the game for Friday Night Live! The first Friday Night Live is set for June 3rd.

Fans First Entertainment also owns and operates the Gastonia Grizzlies of the Coastal Plain League.
