PRESS RELEASE – On Saturday, July 2, the Cuban National Team and the Shikoku Island League All-Stars will face off at Stade Fernand-Bédard, home of the Trois-Rivières Aigles. The game will start at 6:05 p.m.
As announced during the schedule release in December, both teams will play regular season-games against other Can-Am League clubs throughout the month of June. Trois-Rivières will host the only game in which the two foreign teams will face one another.
“It will be a historic game for Trois-Rivières. Fans will have a chance to see teams from two nations where baseball is king, in what is sure to be a memorable evening,” Aigles president Marc-André Bergeron said.
“We’re very excited to face these two teams during the month of June, but, to be honest, I never thought I’d be able to see a game between Cuba and Japan in Trois-Rivières,” general manager René Martin added.
Tickets for the game are available through the Aigles’ web site at http://www.lesaiglestr.com.
