Progress is being made on Jimmy Johns Field, the minor league ballpark currently under construction in Utica (MI) for a new three-team independent professional league called the United Shore Professional Baseball League. The $12 million project is being privately funded and is led by Rochester-based General Sports and Entertainment. The team names have been narrowed down the the following: 59’ers, Beavers, Blue Collars, Diamond Hoppers, Fizz, Mud Pups, Rally Caps, River Rats, Screeching Cicadas, Stags, Steelheads and Unicorns.
