PRESS RELEASE – Ovations Food Services is pleased to announce the lineup of local eateries that will operate as concessionaires at Southwest University Park. They are Chihua Raspas, Leo’s, Peter Piper Pizza, Slush ‘AE, Southwest Kettle Corn and Triple Play Turkey Feast.
“It’s great to be able to offer some of the local favorites at the ballpark,” said Jeff Hanauer, General Manager of Ovations at Southwest University Park. “It’s important for us to make a variety of concessions options available for Chihuahuas fans. There really is something for everyone.”
Fans can find a turkey-leg-corn-in-a-cup combo served up at Triple Play Turkey Feast. If Mexican flavors are desired, then nachos, burritos and tamales are sure to please at Leo’s. Traditional Peter Piper Pizza is always a hit and they’ll also be slicing up Rio Grande Pizza made with chorizo sausage and green chile. Sweet and savory snacks can be purchased at Southwest Kettle Corn. Slush AE’ will keep everyone cool with snow cones and refreshing raspas are available in numerous flavors at Chihua Raspas.
“As we’ve said before, ballpark food and beverage is a vital part of the experience of attending a minor league baseball game,” added Alan Ledford, President of MountainStar Sports Group. “Chihuahuas fans will be thrilled with the concessions choices they’ll have.”
Concessionaire menus will complement the custom designed menus provided by Ovations Food Services, who was selected to provide their signature Everything’s Fresh(tm) approach to all culinary components at Southwest University Park. Opening Night is scheduled for Monday, April 28th, which kicks off an eight (8) game homestand beginning with a 4-game series versus the Fresno Grizzlies (S.F. Giants). The Opening Night game is sold out, but tickets are available for the remainder of the first homestand. Fans can purchase their tickets online at EPChihuahuas.com or in person at the Abraham Chavez Theatre located at 1 Civic Center Plaza Downtown. Lawn seating is $5 and reserved seats start at $8 with advance purchase and $10 on the day of the game.
