Ballpark Sparks Development, Laundromat Becomes Cantina
El Paso’s new ballpark continues to bring new businesses Downtown. The latest addition involves the transformation of an old laundromat into the Blackbird Cantina Deluxe a block from Southwest University Park, home of the Triple-A El Paso Chihuahuas (Pacific Coast League). Spring 2015 Targeted for New Pedestrian Pathway to New El Paso Ballpark
A new pedestrian pathway expected to improve access to recently opened Southwest University Park was supposed to be completed by the end of spring, but the $6.5 million project has been delayed. Mock Impressed by Footprint of New El Paso Ballpark

Kino Stadium Complex Needs $1.5M Annual Subsidy
Pima County Administrator Chuck Huckelberry said that while public use of Kino Sports Complex continues to grow, the county will have to dedicate roughly $1.5 million a year to maintain current operations.
