Skeeters Ink Ground-Breaking Deal with ESPN

Sugar Land Skeeters PrimaryPRESS RELEASE – The Sugar Land Skeeters of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball announced today a ground-breaking, minor league baseball agreement with ESPN, who will gain the exclusive rights to place games on its digital and television networks. The deal will begin with Skeeters home game coverage throughout the 2014 season. Additionally, ESPN will host exclusive coverage of the Roger Clemens Celebrity Slam Softball Game (July 15) and the 2014 Atlantic League All-Star Game (July 16) live from Constellation Field.

Sugar Land Skeeters and ESPN3Each of the 72 interactive events are set to include unique, in-game featured interviews, first-hand information regarding strategy on the field, as well as a look inside the dugout with Skeeters Manager Gary Gaetti. All games will be produced live and may be accessed online at and, on smartphones and tablets via the WatchESPN app and streamed on televisions through ESPN on Xbox LIVE to Gold members, Apple TV, Roku and Amazon Fire TV.

Under the direction of newly-appointed Executive Producer Don Graham, viewers will gain behind-the-scenes access to Skeeters game action as the club becomes the first professional minor league baseball team to showcase full-season, innovative live coverage with ESPN3. The new format will introduce fans to the individual players and coaches on the field, as well as the developing stories within the Atlantic League as Gaetti looks to repeat the team’s record-breaking success from 2013.
