Blue Rocks Opening Day Ticket Price Will be Based on Morning Temperature

Wilmington Blue Rocks New Mascot LogoPRESS RELEASE – The Wilmington Blue Rocks are hoping to chase away the deep freeze that has enveloped the First State this winter. In an attempt to win Mother Nature over, the Blue Rocks will determine the ticket price for their 2014 Home Opener based on the temperature at Frawley Stadium at 8 a.m. on Monday, February 17. It is all part of the team’s annual Presidents’ Day Sale Extravaganza.

Wilmington Blue Rock Temps Determine Ticket PricesIndividual tickets for the 2014 campaign are available to the public beginning when the Blue Rocks Ticket Office opens at 8 a.m. on the morning of Presidents’ Day. If the temperature that morning is, for example 31 degrees, then tickets for the team’s home opener at Frawley Stadium on Tuesday, April 8 will be just 31 cents. If a cold front blows through and the thermometer that morning reads 0 degrees, than the tickets are free. The only stipulations are that the sale lasts until the Blue Rocks Ticket Office closes at 5 p.m. on Presidents’ Day, all seats must be purchased in person that day for reserved and general admission sections only and there is a limit of eight tickets per customer.

Plenty of other offers will be available during the Presidents’ Day Sale Extravaganza as well. The Rocks will offer a suite to any non-fireworks game in April for just $200, which is a savings of 50 percent. Customers can get four tickets to the Blue Rocks game on either July 14 or August 12 for just $5 and they can get four box seat gift certificates, a Blue Rocks drawstring backpack and $20 in Bluewinkle Bucks for just $50.

The Rocks will also give fans the opportunity for a special meet-and-greet with the Cowboy Monkey Rodeo. These are the always popular monkeys dressed as cowboys, riding dogs as though they were horses all while herding sheep. The first 50 fans that purchase the Blue Rocks Cowboy Monkey Door Buster Package will get a VIP introduction to everyone’s favorite entertainment act at Frawley Stadium. For only $120 the package includes four box seat tickets to the June 26 game that features a Cowboy Monkey bobblehead for the first 1,000 fans, four box seat tickets to the July 11 or 12 game to see the Cowboy Monkeys perform and four box seat tickets to any game of your choice (must be chosen at time of purchase).

Refreshments will be served from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m., including coffee provided by Dunkin Donuts, popcorn, hot dogs, chips, soda and orange juice. And just to top off the fun, fans will receive prizes via one spin of the “Wheel of Fun” for every $30 they spend.
