PRESS RELEASE – The New Britain Rock Cats Baseball Club, the Double-A Eastern League Affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, has unveiled a new alternate logo which the players will wear on their hats during the 2014 season.
The new logo (color file attached) features the Rock Cats popular mascot “Rocky” on stage singing into a microphone which is a brown baseball bat. Rocky is wearing a metallic jump suit while leaning forward and pointing into the air with his gray tail and feet showing. The players will wear this design for several games next season. The Rock Cats are the first professional sports team to use metallic red in their team identity. The new logo was brought to life at Brandiose in San Diego, CA.
Annual Winterfest is Saturday at Ballpark
Free food part of fun filled family day planned at New Britain Stadium 10AM-2PM
The Rock Cats will host the annual “Winterfest” event at New Britain Stadium this Saturday, December 7, from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Kids will have the opportunity to have their picture taken with Santa Claus and the free photo will include the new Rock Cats alternate logo. Fans may purchase Holiday Gift Packs as well as ticket packages and merchandise specials throughout the day with up to 50% savings at the Third Base Merchandise Shop!
The festivities will include free food and drink and the Rock Cats will offer behind the scene stadium tours, arts and crafts, a video game truck and face painting for the kids. A “Build your S’Mores” over a fire pit outside New Britain Stadium will be available too. Rocky, will also be on hand with some of his furry mascot buddies to welcome Santa Claus and many of the Rock Cats youngest fans. This is a terrific event to pick up some of the stocking stuffers on your shopping list.
The United Way will be on-site to collect new books, Games (board games), Gloves (coats, gloves, hats, long johns, scarves), and Gear (underwear, t-shirts, socks, pants). Everyone who donates will receive a FREE ticket to Opening Night.
