PRESS RELEASE – Laht Neppur Brewing Co., the popular microbrewery located in Waitsburg, Wash., has signed on as a major sponsor of the Walla Walla Sweets.
Laht Neppur’s relationship with the Sweets began in 2010 when their India Pale Ale (IPA), Peach Hefeweizen, Katie’s Kolsch and Sweets Pale Ale were served in Borleske Stadium. The new sponsorship will continue Laht Neppur’s beverage sales at Sweets games in 2011 and includes naming rights to the new alcohol service station, which will be located beyond the right-field fence and the Pepsi Pavilion in the Am Fam Zone.
“We were very pleased with our partnership with Laht Neppur last season,” said Sweets’ food and beverage manager, Phil Giammalva. “They are great people to be involved with and we’re looking forward to another fantastic season serving Laht Neppur microbrews at Borleske Stadium.”
Laht Neppur’s owner and brew master, Court Ruppenthal, opened the microbrewery in 2006 and recently opened the Laht Neppur Ale House in Downtown Walla Walla, located at 53 S. Spokane St. The Ale House will host the Sweets’ second annual Hot Stove dinner on Thursday, May 5 at 6:30 P.M. Sweets owners and field staff will be on attendance to answer questions and talk about the season along with the key note speaker, West Coast League president and Seattle Mariners broadcaster, Ken Wilson. Tickets are limited and will be on sale to the public Friday, April 22.
We are very excited about our second season with the Sweets and look forward to offering thirsty fans high quality handcrafted ales,” said Ruppenthal. “It is an honor to work with everyone from the Sweets organization and we very happy to be such a big part of the new alcohol service station in right field.”
Construction of the new beer garden at Borleske Stadium is set to begin in the coming days and will be completed well before Opening Night presented by Northwestern Mutual on June 3 when the Sweets host the Corvallis Knights at 7:05 P.M.
