Start-Up Southwest League Ready to Close on Royse City Property
Mark Schuster, president of Ventura Sports Group, has reportedly told the local newspaper that his group is getting ready to close on property in Royse City (TX) where a proposed ballpark would be built to host a franchise from the start-up Southwest League (Independent Professional). Royse City is one of the three teams that have been announced. An additional three teams are expected to be announced in May. Read more here.

Bellmead (TX) Signs New Ballpark MOU with Start-Up SWL
The city of Bellmead (TX) next door to Waco has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Southwest League of Professional Baseball to build a ballpark off Loop 340, as the future home for a team that would start play in April 2018. New Southwest League to Begin Play in 2018
Mark Schuster of Ventura Sports Group has announced the launch of the Southwest League of Professional Baseball, a six-team circuit based in Texas that will begin play in 2018. Schuster claims teams will play in underserved markets in new state-of-the-art multi-use stadiums with seating capacity between 2000-4000 fans. Read press release here.
