Manatees Relocating to Winter Park

Brevard County ManateesThe City of Winter Park (FL), the Single-A Brevard County Manatees (Florida State League), and Rollins College have reached a tentative deal to bring the minor league baseball team to Winter Park, beginning with the 2016 season.  Alfond Stadium, where Rollins College currently plays, will be rebuilt into a 2,500-seat venue which the college and Manatees will share.  Read more and watch news report here.

    and why move to such a smaller stadium ? Space Coast looks like a fun park

      Surely major league teams would prefer their single-A players to play at spring training parks rather than a college park? It could affect the Manatees’ ability to attract a quality major league affiliate in the future.

    That would make two parks in the FSL that are not MLB spring training sites.
