PRESS RELEASE – The Albany Dutchmen, who have joined the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League for 2011 have announced a promotional schedule filled with unique and fun opportunities for fans of all ages! Playing inside brand new Bellizzi Field at the Plumeri Sports Complex, the Dutchmen have added and improved fan events filled with contests, giveaways, theme nights and more!
The following is a list of scheduled events for the season.
Friday, June 10: National Hall of Fame and Museum Night: First 250 kids receive FREE Hall of Fame ticket. Free admission to game with Little League uniform. Albany Mayor Jerry Jennings to throw out first pitch!
Sunday, June 12: FREE boiled peanuts courtesy of Capital Q Smokehouse First 200 kids get to run bases.
Thursday June 16: Celebrity Softball Game for Muscular Dystrophy Association presented by Spotlight Newspapers. HUGE raffle! Proceeds to go back to Muscular Dystrophy Association. Saturday, June 18: Albany Dutchmen players will be giving autographs before and after the game! The Dutchmen will honor and celebrate West Albany Little League.
Sunday, June 19: Father’s Day: All dads FREE admission! FREE popcorn courtesy of Bounce Alot. Bellizzi Field will be open to play catch.
Tuesday, June 21:, First 200 kids receive FREE Dutchmen Frisbee.
Thursday, June 23: “We Are Albany Night”: Exhibition vs. University at Albany Athletics.
Saturday, June 25: Down Syndrome Aim High Resource Center Night: HUGE raffle planned with proceeds from game going back to resource center.
Sunday, June 26: Yankee Trails Night: Exciting trip giveaways! The Pine Bush Little League will be honored and celebrated.
Tuesday, June 28: High School All-Star Recognition Night: Top local high school players to be honored at game!
Saturday, July 2: First 200 kids get Fun Plex Fun Park go-cart ride passes.
Sunday, July 3: First 200 kids get Fun Plex Fun Park mini golf passes. Hot dog eating contest with great prizes to celebrate Independence Day!
Friday, July 8: Capital Q Apron Giveaway to first 100 fans, 18+. National Little League day at the ballpark!
Sunday, July 10: FREE popcorn courtesy of Bounce Alot Party Rentals.
Friday, July 15: First 200 kids receive player’s Park-Eagle Crest Mini Golf passes.
Saturday, July 16: Pink Game: Dutchmen’s pink game for breast cancer. Dutchmen jersey auction! HUGE raffle! Proceeds from the pink game will benefit American Cancer Society and Susan G. Komen.
Sunday, July 17: FREE snow cones courtesy of Bounce Alot Party Rentals.
Tuesday, July 19: Capital Q Smokehouse pig nose giveaway for first 200 kids.
Saturday, July 23: Capital Q Smokehouse Night: $200 in gift certificates giveaways!
Tuesday, July 26: Kid Night: Surprise kids giveaways. Kids run bases!
Saturday, July 30: Phillips Hardware Night: Over $500 in prize giveaways.
Tuesday, August 2: Fan appreciation night.
The Dutchmen will kick off their 2011 season on Thursday June 9 followed by their home opener against the Mohawk Valley DiamondDogs, their inaugural game at Bellizzi Field, June 10 at 7 p.m.
