Saints Dissed by Senate, Stadium Funding Still in Play

The Minnesota Senate offered up zero dollars for the proposed new Lowertown ballpark for the indy pro St. Paul Saints (American Association) in their version of the bonding bill released Wednesday.  All is not lost, however, as this non-allocation will have to be reconciled with the $27 million put forth by Governor Mark Dayton in his proposal, and the $2 million provided in the House bill.  Read more here.

CrackerJacks Unveil New Stadium Logo, Renderings

The summer collegiate Will County CrackerJacks (Midwest Collegiate League) unveiled plans for the new Will County Stadium on Oct. 20 at a World Series party at Limestone Brewery in Plainfield (IL).  The team’s ownership is hoping to open the new ballpark in time for the 2014 season.  More information is expected to be released soon.  Watch stadium video here.

City Planners Still Waiting on Bullfrogs, Packers

The development of a new $20 million stadium on the Fox River for the Northwoods League’s Green Bay Bullfrogs remains on hold, as the Bullfrogs and the NFL’s Green Bay Packers discuss a proposed new multiuse facility on Packers’ property near Lambeau Field. City planners want to see a riverfront ballpark and have gone as far as to ask the Packers to sign agreement not to build a similar baseball facility
