The city of Ottawa has set a Feb. 1 deadline to make a decision about what to do with the Ottawa baseball facility. This would provide a very risky timeline to succesfully launch a franchise in time for the 2010 season. As we indicated yesterday, there are two baseball groups vying to place a team in the park for 2010. One group is Ottawa Professional Baseball led by Can-Am League commissioner Miles Wolff. The other is the Ottawa Stadium Group led by David Butler and Duncan MacDonald. The OSG group would like to bring in a Golden Baseball League club.
