Will Peralta’s Need for Dollars Propel A’s Ballpark Deal

The Peralta Community College District, which owns the land where the Oakland A’s want to build their new ballpark, is facing some tough financial times.  Reportedly, teachers have privately shared that they fear the school’s need for money could propel the Peralta Board of Trustees into a lease deal with the team.  Read more here.

Faculty, Students Weigh in on A’s Ballpark Plan

The Oakland A’s pitch for a new ballpark next to Laney College got a big thumbs-down from the school’s faculty and students, with representatives of both groups voting “no” on the idea of a 35,000-seat stadium.  But, the Oakland Chamber of Commerce found that city residents back the ballpark proposal by a 2-1 ratio.  Read more here.
