PRESS RELEASE – Enjoy a unique opportunity to sample some of the finest craft beers at “Bark for Brew,” a dog-friendly, craft beer tasting presented by Fetch Doggie Day Care. Bark for Brew is set for Sunday, June 9, at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park at 2pm prior to the RiverDogs’ scheduled game against the Asheville Tourists (first pitch is 5:05 pm). As an added perk, parking will be free of charge on Sunday!
Bring your wing dog and sample fine beers from across the country that includes Thomas Creek, Founders, Holy City, Frothy Beard, Brooklyn, Sweetwater, Oskar Blues, Lagunitas and Foothills to name a few. An assortment of ales will be available to quench the taste buds of every craft beer enthusiast.
As a highlight, there will be dog-related booths by Fetch Doggy Day Care, All Is Well Pet and Rescue Me Dog Bakery that you and your pet can visit. Pet Helpers will also be on site with dogs available for adoption.
Bark for Brew benefit Canines for Service which is a national program that provides Veterans with disabilities a quality trained service dogs. The program works with military prisoners at the Naval Consolidated Brig Charleston and teaches them how to train rescue dogs as service dogs for the wounded and injured Veteran. Known as the “triple win” the Canines for Service program has twice been awarded the Newman’s Own Award for program innovation supporting our military and their families, is approved by the US Department of Labor as an apprenticeship program and was recently named a Joining Forces Community Challenge finalist.
Bark For Your Brew is a 21-and-over event. Tickets are $25 each and the admission includes entry to the tasting, sampling tickets and a ticket for the RiverDogs last Dog Day baseball game of the 2013 for you and your dog.
