Recollections of the Polo Grounds

New York Times sports writer Richard Sandomir takes a nostalgic, don’t-forget-this-ballpark-in-the-historic-shadows-of-Ebbets-Field look back at the Polo Grounds, its tenants, and the many memories compiled over the years before it was demolished in 1964.  There will be no forgetting this weekend, when the San Francisco Giants and 79-year-old Hall of Famer Willie Mays make an ancestral trek to New York to share/show off the 2010 World Series trophy.  Read more here.
