Canseco Bashes North American League, NAL Fires Back

In a New York Daily News story announcing a celebrity boxing match between troubled former MLB stars Jose Canseco and Lenny Dykstra, Canseco made the following comments about the indy pro North American League:

“The league was a travesty. They stopped payment on checks in the amount of $25,000 with me. There’s going to be a major lawsuit against them. It was a terrible league. Just crazy,” Canseco said. “I will never manage for them again, never play in that league again.”

The NAL didn’t waste time in responding to Canseco’s attack in this report from KYMA News 11.  As you recall, Canseco was the field manager for the Yuma Scorpions during the 2011 season.

Man, if Canseco is questioning someone’s integrity it must be really bad!
