Springfield Cardinals Unveil ‘The Nest’

Springfield Cardinals LogoPRESS RELEASE – The Springfield Cardinals are excited to announce the addition of The Nest, a brand-new all-inclusive section at Hammons Field for the 2015 Season.

The Nest will offer Cardinals fans the same great value as the very popular Expedia® Redbird Roost while providing a fresh perspective of the game. The Nest will be situated in Section A on the first-base side of the ballpark, complementing the second-level, third-base side view from the Expedia® Redbird Roost and offering fans an incredible choice of all-you-can-eat sections. Part of the Bullpen Patio will connect to Section A for an enhanced area for fans to eat and enjoy the game.

“The Expedia® Redbird Roost is one of the most popular sections at Hammons Field, and this is a way to expand that area with a different view of the action on the field,” said Springfield Cardinals Vice President / General Manager Matt Gifford. “We think that Cardinals fans will really like being close to the field and right next to the Cardinals Bullpen in one of the best sections in the ballpark for player traffic, while enjoying the unmatched value of an all-inclusive section.”

Similar to the Expedia® Redbird Roost, The Nest will feature an array of delicious ballpark fare such as hot dogs, bratwursts, nachos, chips, salad, cookies, Coca-Cola products and more. Single Game Tickets in The Nest will be the same great price as in the Expedia® Redbird Roost, starting at just $27 for the all-you-can eat menu and an up-close experience of the game.

An ideal option for families, Season Ticket Holders and Group Outings, there is no minimum number of tickets needed for the The Nest. However, all seating in the section is based on availability, so advanced booking is encouraged.

Season Tickets and Group Outings in the The Nest are available right now by calling the Front Office at (417) 863-0395. Single Game Tickets will go on sale at a later date.

The St. Louis Cardinals Caravan will make its annual trip to Springfield this Friday, January 16. The Caravan will be held at Hammons Field in the Indoor Training Facility and is scheduled to start at 12:15pm. Lunch will be available for purchase at the event.

This year’s attendees will feature former Springfield Cardinals and current St. Louis Cardinals Matt Adams, Seth Maness and Kevin Siegrist. Former St. Louis Cardinals Jason Simontacchi, who will be Springfield’s Pitching Coach this year, and Kerry Robinson will also be a part of the Caravan. Cardinals Broadcaster John Rooney will serve as the emcee.

Coinciding with the afternoon program at Hammons Field, the Springfield Cardinals will have a Garage Sale featuring jerseys, helmets, bats, and many other Cardinals collectibles used by some of your favorite players here in Springfield.

Doors will open for the 2015 Cardinals Caravan at 11:30am, with the event scheduled to run from 12:15 – 2pm. Admission for the Cardinals Caravan is $5 for adults and $3 for kids (ages 3-12). All admission proceeds will benefit the Children’s Miracle Network.
