Rogoff, who replaces long-time Director of Media Relations Chuck Hinkel, spent 11 years in Major League Baseball from 1999-2009 with the San Diego Padres, Boston Red Sox, Washington Nationals, and Los Angeles Dodgers. Rogoff most recently worked for the public relations firm Marston+Marston, Inc. in his native San Diego.
“Mark brings a wealth of baseball experience, a passion for the game, and a work ethic that will fit right in with our talented front-office staff,” Mason said. “He has big shoes to fill following Chuck’s departure, but I know he will admirably serve the organization and community well.”
“I couldn’t be more thrilled to join the Red Wings staff and Rochester community,” Rogoff said. “Baseball is in my veins, whether it’s Major League Baseball, Minor League Baseball or Little League Baseball. I look forward to celebrating this great game and helping take the organization to new heights.”
Rogoff, 31, began his career in baseball in 1999 as a member of the Pad Squad, the goodwill ambassador group of the Padres. He went on to intern in the ballpark entertainment and media relations departments under the tutelage of Larry Lucchino, Dr. Charles Steinberg and Glenn Geffner, and then joined the Red Sox front office under the same leadership in 2002. After four seasons in Boston, including two as Media Relations Assistant, Rogoff served as the Nationals’ Media Relations Manager from 2006-07. He then spent two seasons with the Dodgers from 2008-09 as Assistant Director, Public Relations.
Rogoff earned a bachelor’s degree in communication from Boston University in 2003. For the last 14 years he has served as a volunteer writer at the Little League Baseball World Series in Williamsport, PA, penning game stories and feature articles for Little League’s official web site. He also coached a Little League team for the last two years in San Diego.
