PRESS RELEASE – Standard Bank Stadium will be sporting a slightly different look this year after several additions have been made to the ThunderBolts’ home ballpark.
Brand new Hawks Nest Grill (under construction)
A new Hawks Nest Grill is under construction and will be ready to go by Opening Night. All the familiar food favorites will be available in this hot new hangout down the first-base line.
Fans will be able to test their arm strength this year at the speed pitch game located down the right-field line. The radar gun to track pitch speeds replaces the sandbox that occupied the space last season.
The same fans will also now have the ability to compare their fastballs to those of the pros thanks to the brand new U.S. Messenger pitch speed display visible directly next to the scoreboard in right field. The pitch speed display is sure to add another component of excitement to ThunderBolts 2011 home games.
Also along to add excitement to 2011, the ThunderBolts are pleased to announce fun promotions at each home game.
All Tuesday contests at Standard Bank Stadium this season will be 2-for-1 Ticket Tuesdays, in which fans can purchase two tickets for the price of one.
Wednesday nights will be dollar hot dog nights. Hot dogs and soda are just $1 at the concession stands all game long.
Back for 2011 are $1 beer nights on Thursdays and Fridays all throughout the season thanks to Bud Light Thirsty Thursdays and Budweiser Fill ‘R Up Fridays.
As usual, Saturday nights will feature the best fireworks show in the world. Stick around after the games to see the night sky lit up in dazzling displays.
And of course, Sundays are Standard Bank Family Nights. Come out to the park and receive four tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas, all for just $40.
