The new United States League led by commissioner Neil Fogarty is offering franchises for $50,000 to begin play in 2010. As you might expect, our initial reaction is skepticism.
Reasons: (1) unprofessional branding and website, (2) no information about the league leadership, (3) the league is still planning on a 2010 launch, despite the late date, (4) the league has targeted highly competitive regions of the country, and (5) the league is leaning on the struggling Continental Baseball League for expert advice and partnership.
