Memorabilia Stolen from Yogi Berra Museum
Thieves broke into the Yogi Berra Museum and Learning Center, swiping several priceless pieces of memorabilia belonging to the Hall of Famer. The perpetrators entered the museum through the adjoining Yogi Berra Stadium in Little Falls (NJ), home of the indy pro New Jersey Jackals (Can-Am League). Read more here and here. Yogi Berra Gets a Street
The city of Montclair (NJ) has honored Hall of Famer Yogi Berra with his own street…sort of. A sign reading Yogi Berra Way has been added to Edgewood Terrace, which is an honorary rather than legal name change for the street. Read more here. View a photo of street sign here. Celebrating Yogi’s 87th Birthday
The New York Yankees and fans celebrated Yogi Berra‘s 87th birthday on Saturday at Yankee Stadium. The Hall of Famer was driven around the field in a golf cart before stopping at home plate, where he was honored with a cake and the crowd’s touching rendition of “Happy Birthday.” Read more here. Historic Yogi Berra Jersey to be Displayed at Museum Near Jackals’ Ballpark
Thanks to Richard Angrist, the 1956 Yogi Berra jersey he bought last year for $600,000 will be loaned to the newly renovated Yogi Berra Museum adjacent to Yogi Berra Stadium, home of the Can-Am League’s New Jersey Jackals, where it will be displayed for a year.
