With Major League Baseball’s decision to suspend New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez for using performance enhancing drugs, the Fox Cities Sports Authority, which also oversees the home of the Single-A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (Midwest League), has decided to remove A-Rod’s name from Alex Rodriguez Field at Appleton’s Scheels USA Youth Sports Complex. On Tuesday, Concordia University in Mequon (WI) broke ground on a new baseball stadium that is expected to serve as the home for the Falcons and a new summer collegiate Northwoods League franchise. The stadium is scheduled to open in time for the 2012 baseball season. Read more here.
