Blue Wahoos to Become ‘Mullets’ for What If Night Thursday, Unveil Branding

PRESS RELEASE – When choosing the name of Pensacola’s new Double-A club in 2012, more than 3,200 votes were cast for six final choices. The Blue Wahoos won over the possibilities of the Aviators, Mullets, Redbones, Salty Dogs and Loggerheads.

The Kalamzoo Growlers (Summer Collegiate, Northwoods League) will celebrate “What If?” Night on June 20 with Kalamazoo Kraken  jerseys and a toothbrush holder for the first 500 fans.

Storm Chasers Postpone 2nd Annual “What If … Night”

The force was not with the Triple-A Omaha Storm Chasers (Pacific Coast League) Saturday night, as the game and the team’s 2nd annual “What If…Night” combine with “Star Wars Night” had to be postponed because of bad weather.  When the Chasers revisit the double-themed night on August 10, the players will be donning the Omaha Force gear.  The Force was one of the finalists in the name-the-team contest in 2010.
