Opening of New WVU, NYPL Ballpark Delayed
West Virginia officials, citing winter weather that slowed construction, will delay the opening of the new Monongalia County Ballpark under construction for the West Virginia University Mountaineers and West Virginia Black Bears (Single-A, New York-Penn League). Name-the-Team Contest Announced for New Morgantown Team
Morgantown Professional Baseball has announced a name-the-team contest for the relocating Single-A Jamestown Jammers (New York-Penn League), which will begin play at a new shared ballpark in Morgantown (WV) in 2015. Fans have until Friday, Sept. 26 to make their submissions. Submit names here.

The West Virginia State Senate has unanimously approved a bill that would create a tax increment financing project (TIF) to help support construction of a new stadium in Morgantown for the West Virginia University Mountaineers baseball team and potentially a minor-league franchise.
