Bucks Getting New Video Board
The Waterloo Bucks (Summer Collegiate, Northwoods League) will finally have replay abilities, live game action and promotional and advertising capabilities on a Major League Baseball-sized LED screen to replace the aging, malfunctioning one currently in the outfield at Riverfront Stadium. Single-A Kernels in Talks to Buy Summer Collegiate Bucks
The Single-A Cedar Rapids Kernels (Midwest League) are in talks to buy the summer collegiate Waterloo Bucks (Northwoods League). The purchase has already been approved by the Midwest League and the President of Minor League Baseball. There are still a few other hoops to jump through here, but it looks like a done deal. Bucks Release 20th Season Logo, Announce Plans for Fan Favorite Team

Tiger Woods Invited to Throw Out the ‘First Spit”

Bucks to Open 2010 Season at Renovated Riverfront Stadium
Riverfront Stadium, home of the summer collegiate Northwoods League’s Waterloo (IA) Bucks, has had a complete undercarriage makeover with new locker rooms and team offices. View photos here. Read more here. The entire underbelly of the park was destroyed when the Cedar River completely flooded the facility in 2008. The outside of the park has also been spruced up since we visited in 2003.

Refurbishing Waterloo’s Riverfront Stadium
PRESS RELEASE – During the summer of 2008 the Waterloo Bucks and historic Riverfront Stadium were acutely affected by flooding. Floodwaters damaged or destroyed many points of Riverfront including offices, concessions stands, restrooms, locker rooms, souvenir stand, ticket windows, storage areas, and party deck, and totally covered the playing field.
