With about 14,000 Walmart shareholders converging on Bentonville (AR) for the company’s annual shareholders meeting Friday, the Double-A Northwest Arkansas Naturals (Texas League) in nearby Springdale saw an attendance bump at Arvest Park from 3,075 Wednesday to 6,393 Thursday. Friday should be a big night too, as the team brings back the “what could have been” Thunder Chickens. Read more here.

Capital City Stadium’s Last Days
The demolition of Capital City Stadium, home of the summer collegiate Columbia Blowfish (Coastal Plain League), is closer to reality, as city signed off on a 56-page contract last week agreeing to sell the six-acre Capital City Stadium property to a Walmart developer. Blowfish Home Sold, Walmart on the Way?
