The Bellevue, WA-based owners of the summer collegiate West Coast League’s Walla Walla (WA) Sweets have donated $5 million to assist the rescue effort in Haiti following the devastating 7 magnitude earthquake that recently rocked the tiny island county. In addition to owning the Sweets, John Stanton and his Trilogy Partnership group are investors in the wireless industry in Haiti.
After 14 season as a big leaguer, including two with the Seattle Mariners, Jeff Cirillo retired from baseball in 2007. As one of the new owners of the Walla Walla Sweets, the summer collegiate West Coast League’s newest franchise, Cirillo expects to be one of the primary faces for the organization. Read more here.

The Walla Walla Sweets, the newest franchise from the summer collegiate West Coast League, introduced their new branding at an unveiling event this afternoon. The professional logo was developed by veteran sports logo design firm Studio Simon. You can also vist the Sweets new website, which was designed by Infinity Pro Sports, one of the top website developers in the sports industry. Tidbit Trivia: The Sweets are sort of a repeat customer for Studio Simon. Sweets general manager Zachary Fraser served as GM for the Pioneer League’s Orem Owlz when the team was relocated from Provo and rebranded in 2005. The Owlz’s logo was designed by the Simon group.
As we predicted last week, the new summer collegiate franchise from the West Coast League will be known as the Walla Walla Sweets, after the famous sweet onion. The official announcement and logo unveiling will come on Thursday. The team’s new branding was developed by well-known sports industry design firm Studio Simon.
