Victoria’s Riverside Stadium Gets New Turf

Workers from Hellas Construction install artificial turf on the infield at Riverside Stadium in Victoria (TX), home of the University of Houston-Victoria baseball team and the Victoria Generals (Summer Collegiate, Texas Collegiate League). The old turf was ruined when the Guadalupe River flooded after Hurricane Harvey.  Read more here.

Victoria Generals Set to Host TCL All-Star Game Next Week

PRESS RELEASE – The Victoria Generals of the Texas Collegiate League will host the 2012 TCL All-Star Game presented by the University of Houston-Victoria on Monday, July 9 at Riverside Stadium. It will be the second time in three years that Victoria has hosted the high-profile exhibition game.

Strykers Open Inaugural Season

The summer collegiate Woodlands Strykers (Texas Collegiate League) opened their inaugural season with a 10-9 loss to new league rivals the Victoria Generals in front of a full house at the upgraded baseball stadium on the campus of The Woodlands Christian Academy.  Read more and view video here.

Generals in Victoria for the Long Haul

The summer collegiate Victoria Generals (Texas Collegiate League) plan to stay put at Riverside Stadium for years to come, but lease renewel negotiations will be put off until the city finalizes plans to remove control of concessions from Friends of Victoria Baseball.  The Generals are entering their final year of a four-year ballpark lease.  Read more here.

Victoria to Open Bidding for Concessions at Riverside Stadium

The City of Victoria (TX) has given notice to the volunteer Friends of Victoria Baseball that it plans to open up bidding for operating concessions at Riverfront Stadium, home of the summer collegiate Victoria Generals (Texas Collegiate League).  The group has been operating concessions at the historic ballpark for years.  We’re not sure how this might impact the Generals, but GM Blake Koch appears concerned.  Read more here.

Victoria Generals Building Fun, Fan Momentum

In only their second season, the Victoria Generals host the Texas Collegiate League’s All-Star Game this evening.  They deserve it.  The franchise led the league in wins for most of the regular season last year and are doing the same this year.  More importantly, they are getting it done off the field and in the stands.  Read about the Generals operation here and historic Riverside Stadium here.

Franchise in TCL Selects Home and Team Name

PRESS RELEASE – The Victoria Baseball Club, LLC, owners of the Victoria Generals, have announced the location for their second franchise in the Texas Collegiate League.  The new franchise will be located in Weimar, Texas and play their home games at historic Veterans Memorial Park.  The team will be called the Texas Tomcats.
