Champaign (IL) Mayor Don Gerard plans to set up an exploratory committee to determine the interest in and feasbility of building a new minor league ballpark to bring professional baseball to town.  Gerard already has a site in mind on a vacant piece of property southeast of the intersection of Neil Street and Interstate 74.  Read more here.
