Construction crews started work on a project to remove the turf at Uni-Trade Stadiums and replace it with artificial grass. In addition to the turf, the stadium is adding new LED lighting, a new scoreboard, a pool, and batting cages for the fans. Read more and watch news report here.

Lemurs Announce Two-Game Sister Cities Classic
The indy pro Laredo Lemurs (American Association) and Tecolotes de Nuevo Laredo (Liga del Norte) will battle it out in the two-game Sister Cities Baseball Classic. The first game will be played at Uni-Trade Stadium on November 6, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. The teams will then travel just across the border for a game at Parque La Junta Field on November 7, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. Read more here. Laredo Council Approves Deal with Lemurs’ New Ownership
The Laredo (TX) City Council on Tuesday approved a memorandum of understanding with the new owners of the indy pro Laredo Lemurs (American Association) for operating the team at Uni-Trade Stadium. The league must still approve the ownership transfer. The ownership group, Laredo Baseball Holdings, is reportedly from Mexico. Read more and watch news report here. Inaugural Lemurs Open New Park

Uni-Trade Forwarding, LLC has purchased the naming rights for the new $18 million ballpark being built for the indy pro Laredo Lemurs (American Association). The ballpark will be known as “Uni-Trade Stadium.” Read more here.
