SEC Exploring New Locations for Baseball Tournament
The Southeastern conference (SEC) reportedly has sent bid information to 12 different southern cities, while claiming Hoover (AL) — a suburb of Birmingham — will still be a potential host of its league baseball tournament after its contract runs out this year. Financial Problems Threaten Future of 78-year-Old Tournament
An internal audit of the city-owned National Baseball Congress’ books shows its operators, the indy pro Wichita Wingnuts (American Association), are more than a quarter-million dollars in debt and two years in arrears to the city on lease payments for Lawrence-Dumont Stadium. Read more here.
