WWE mogul Vince McMahon’s spinoff group Alpha Entertainment has announced the eight franchises for the second incarnation of the XFL, which is scheduled to begin play in 2020.  Among the eight inaugural franchises: one that will call Globe Life Park in Arlington (TX) it’s home.  Read more here.

Texas Live! Opens Thursday Night, ‘Going to the Show’ Statue Unveiled

Excavation Work Nearly Complete for Globe Life Field

The digging and excavation work is nearly done for the Texas Rangers’ new billion-dollar ballpark. Nearly a million and a half cubic yards of dirt have been excavated, with 75 miles of steel rods holding up the retaining walls. Rangers Secure $600 Million Loan for New Ballpark

SunTrust Banks said Wednesday that it finalized $600 million worth of financing for the Texas Rangers’ portion of the Globe Life Field stadium.  The bank also helped finance the Atlanta Braves’ SunTrust Park and the Atlanta Falcons’ Mercedes-Benz Stadium, both of which opened this season.  Read more here.
