City Reduces Subsidy to Ports
The city of Stockton (CA) and the Single-A Stockton Ports (California League) have agreed to amend the team’s contract to play at Stockton Ballpark. Stockton officials say the changes will reduce the city’s current $400,000 annual subsidy to the team by about $112,500. The city is restructuring its debts as part of a Chapter 9 bankruptcy. The Ports’ contract runs through 2044. Read more here.

Legends of Baseball Vintage Showdown Wednesday in Stockton
Banner Island Ballpark, home of the Single-A Stockton Ports (California League), will host the third Legends of Baseball Vintage Showdown on Wednesday, July 4. Former big leaguers and members of the California Vintage Base Ball Federation will don uniforms and use equipment from the 1880s. Stockton Settles Eminent Domain Suit, Will Pay $2.5M
The City of Stockton (CA) will pay Marina Towers LLC $2.5 million over eight years to settle a lawsuit over land seized in 2004 to build a new ballpark for the Single-A Stockton Ports. Land where Marina Tower once stood is now a parking lot for the ballpark. Read more here.
