Summer baseball is returning to Spartanburg and South Carolina’s oldest ballpark. The city council Monday gave the Coastal Plain League the OK to use Duncan Park for a team of top collegiate athletes to play a 52-game season, from late May to mid-August. Read more here.

Spectators got their first glimpse of Duncan Park renovations Tuesday during the first Spartanburg High School game there since renovations began. Opening in 1926, the ballpark is the former home for the Spartanburg Phillies (South Atlantic League) and summer collegiate Spartanburg Stingers (Coastal Plain League). Read more here.
