USSSA Space Coast Stadium Deal Approved: 5 Things You Should Know About It

Brevard County (FL) commissioners last week approved a lease agreement with the U.S. Specialty Sports Association, under which the USSSA will move its headquarters from Kissimmee to Space Coast Stadium in Viera, the current home of the Brevard County Manatees (Single-A, Florida State League).  Read more here.

Manatees Eye New Downtown Melbourne Ballpark

The Single-A Brevard County Manatees (Florida State League) are exploring a potential move from Viera into a future downtown Melbourne baseball stadium at the old SunTrust Bank site on New Haven Avenue.  The Manatees currently play their home games at  Space Coast Stadium.  Read more and view aerial map here.

Brevard County Goes Trolling

In an effort to persuade the Washington Nationals to keep their spring-training operations in Viera (FL) or find another team to take their place, Brevard County put together an eight-page brochure showing what 20-year-old Space Coast Stadium could look like with a proposed $29 million facelift.  The brochure was sent to Nationals executive last week and will be mailed to the other 29 MLB teams this week.  Read more here.

Nationals Owners Leave Baseball Operations in GM’s Hands, Team Exploring Spring Training Move
